Midsummer Quiz Night

On 21 June, the Association held its Midsummer Quiz at the Northcote Road Hall. The Quiz was hotly contested and congratulations are due to the winners. In the small Hall, films were shown to young people.

As a result of this event, the Association now has a one-year licence to show films to young people who live in the area (max 40). As such, would anyone be prepared to take on running a series of children’s film evenings?

Communications

We have also been looking at other ways of communicating. When this eHeron was introduced, it came after a period when the mailing list was used for interactive discussions. Not everyone wanted 30 different views of how to get rid of dog poo, and so the mailing list is now only used for calling notices and eHerons and other “broadcasts”, and the dreaded “Reply to All” has been abolished. Some people have said however that they miss any sort of discussion forum. We did have a go at getting one on the website, but it is a little cumbersome. So moving into the 21st century, we have set up a Facebook group which is called “NSMRA”. Why not join it? We don’t know where it will lead. But it won’t lead anywhere if people don’t take part.

River Clearing, this Saturday 5th July

Organised by The Tidal Crane Association and NSMRA in association with Thames 21, River Clearing Day is an opportunity to celebrate the fabulous River Crane, meet neighbours and have fun. The day starts with coffee followed by River Clearing, River Dipping for children, a Family Tea and finally a celebratory evening Barbecue (adults only). Full details are attached.
