A Happy New Year from NSMRA to all its residents.
Funding for the River Crane Park Scheme
The Help A London Park scheme is soliciting votes from local people to decide who will receive funding from them. The River Crane which runs through our area is one of the most important wildlife corridors in London, and just upstream from us (and hence any improvements will help improve the quality of our stretch of the Crane).
Please visit www.london.gov.uk/parksvote,, select South West and vote for the Crane Valley Park. There’s £400,000 of grants on offer and voting closes on 30th January.
Car Crime
Please be aware that we have been told of several instances of car thefts in Haliburton and surrounding roads. Apparently the thieves are dismantling any external fittings (bumpers, mirrors, wipers, etc.) from BMWs (only this make I believe at present) and making off with them. Apparently they can do this without setting off the alarm. Please keep your eyes peeled and report any suspicious behaviour to the Police immediately on 999.
Committee Meeting
The next NSMRA meeting will be on Monday evening, the 19th at 1930 at 72 Northcote Road. Everyone is welcome. At our last meeting we agreed to discuss ways of increasing participation in the Association. The Association only exists for the benefit of those who live and work in this area. There are various local issues which affect us all, from Heathrow to dog mess. Also projects such as the “Skills Exchange” set up some time ago which might be of economic benefit to residents if ramped up a bit. In addition, we have run and hope to run more social events. Have you got some time or expertise you could put towards these things? Are there other things that the Association should be doing?
Even if you can’t come along next week, your views and input would help our discussion.
Regards,
On behalf of North St Margarets Residents’ Association
Nick Grossman
